So apparently, because I’m a male and my experience is “atypical” that makes it okay. Furthermore, apparently I’m allowed to be silenced because my voice is just too loud already. So women, go ahead and hate on males and marginalize their problems because it’s normal for us to get assaulted and apparently being assaulted is made up for by the fact that I can get a good paying job. Because money is really important, and no matter what happens to you as long as you’ve got a well-paying job everything else is just cool.

Got it, lesson learned.

OH dear god, what I want to tell you is to google or search the tags for “male privilege” and shut up, but you’re not up for learning anything new, are you? I saw several of my friends on my dash trying to get through to you, so I have no idea why I’m bothering.

“Apparently I’m allowed to be silenced because my voice is just too loud already”, YEAH PRETTY MUCH, ACTUALLY. Your voice is plenty loud. You’re overly-represented. As a man, you are never going to be put down, disregarded, or oppressed due to your gender. You might suffer oppression for other reasons — like if you’re a person of color, or if you’re not-straight, or if you’re poor, for example — BUT YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER GET FUCKED WITH BECAUSE YOU’RE MALE. Women, on the other hand, have their female-specific* rights threatened all the fucking time.

(also, some of these things [like reproductive health] also apply to transmen. NOT THAT YOU’LL UNDERSTAND ANYWAY.)

I hope Rick Santorum sees someone he likes wave at him, and he waves back, but then it turns out they were actually waving at Obama behind him, and so Rick feels like an idiot.

"Even if we put aside the question of fetal personhood and assume that a fetus should have the same rights as a born human being, giving that fetus the right to use another person’s body for its surivval would give it privileges that born people do not have. In no other case is a person legally compelled to use their body and their internal organs to sustain another’s life. We do not require parents to donate kidneys or even blood to their children, and we do not require anyone to be a good Samaritan and risk their life or health for another. It is difficult to imagine a case in which we would legally require a father to keep his child physically attached to his body, using his organs for survival, physically impairing him, and requiring him to miss work and possibly undergo surgery, for nearly ten months.
It would be difficult to make the case that the child (or full-grown adult) has a right to use their father’s body for survival. Yet this is exactly what opponents of abortion rights argue— except the body in question is female,"

"After we stripped the dead suspect and tested him for drug and alcohol use and then dug under his finger and toe nails for any incriminating DNA, we checked his blood-soaked clothes for any kind of evidence of wrong doing. All we found was 34 cents and a couple of baseball cards. …
That’s it? Gretchen Carlson asked dismayed.
Seems to me that something was obviously missing: why wasn’t there a receipt for the pop and candy? …
We at the Sanford Police Department asked the exact same question, Gretchen, Chief Bill Lee explained.
We concluded that the suspect must have stolen the candy and tea, and in my mind that bolstered Mr. Zimmerman’s self-defense claim."

Gretchen Carlson and Chief Bill Lee explaining their justifications for Zimmerman’s actions

I think I’m done with this case now. I’m washing my hands of it, because justice isn’t being served. Zimmerman wasn’t detained, he’s gone missing, Trayvon’s been completely dehumanized (stripped, tested for drugs/alcohol and violated for incriminating DNA while the killer roams free??) and apparently, he’s the suspect now.

Good to know I should keep all of my receipts forever to prove I didn’t steal something after I’m murdered. I guess we aren’t allowed to refuse or toss receipts that we know we won’t need.

Is this real life?! sigh…

Yeah I threw out my receipt after buying dinner today. Guess I stole that sandwich and soda.

Keeping an eye out for Gretchen so I can throw things at her if she dares come near me.

EXCUSE ME.

Why is Trayvon the “dead suspect”? What is he fucking suspected of?

How can they justify tearing this young, INNOCENT boy apart trying to find ANY evidence of wrongdoing (and taking a guess when they couldn’t), when there is a cold-blooded murderer standing right in front of them?

I can’t. I just… I can’t. And it’s tearing my heart out because when I see these stories I realize how much there is to this that I will never be able to truly understand and experience.  The pain and fear and frustration I’m feeling is nothing.

I’m so sorry.

I am white, which means that in the all but impossible chance that I am shot and killed in a “nice” neighborhood for walking down the street and my killer goes free, nobody would suspect me of stealing my iced tea because of the lack of receipt on my person. And more importantly, nobody would be looking for a way to make me the criminal. Throwing out a receipt isn’t criminal. Walking home with snacks isn’t criminal. Wearing a hoodie isn’t criminal. But apparently not being white is. Disgusting.

ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING. WHO KEEPS ALWAYS KEEPS THEIR RECEIPTS? Also, why would petty theft =/= aggressor anyway?
